The Choctawhatchee Bay Chapter supports the DAR mission of historic preservation, education, and patriotism by sponsoring the American History and Christopher Columbus Essay Contests and DAR Good Citizens Award, supporting DAR Schools, Troops Overseas, and the Homeless Veterans Stand Down, promoting DAR Constitution Week and DAR Scholarships, fostering conservation, awarding Junior ROTC and DAR Youth Citizenship Medals, and preserving personal accounts of American war veterans for the Library of Congress Veterans History Project. The chapter is a Department of Defense Partner for the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War and, along with the Emerald Coast Sons of the American Revolution, sponsors the Snowden-Horne Society, Children of the American Revolution.
